I am Noor E Alam Mina, BPM (Bar), PPM is a Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Bangladesh Police. As DIG I served many important duties including DIG of Chittagong Range and Police Commissioner of Rangpur Metropolitan Police in Bangladesh. I also served Dhaka range as an Additional Deputy Inspector General (Add DIG) of Bangladesh Police. Earlier, I performed my job as Superintendent of Police (SP) in Sunamganj, sylhet and Chittagong Districts with honesty, integrity, competence, professionalism. I was born in 1976 at my village Bhattaidhoba under Kashiani Thana in Gopalganj district. I am a Dhaka University Graduate. I achieved BSS (Hon’s) and MSS in Economics under that University. I joined Bangladesh Police as Asst. Superintendent of Police (ASP) in 2001 by qualifying 20th BCS (Police).
I served as a logistic officer of UN Peacekeeping Mission in Darfur ( UNAMD), Sudan where I earned accomplishment award ‘UN-Medal’ in 2008. In Bangladesh Police Academy Sardah, I was adorned with the award IGP’s Medal for the Best in Academics-2002′ in recognition of the best competence & glorious performance during the basic training. I achieved the ‘PPM-Sheba’ award one of the most prestigious awards of Bangladesh Police for my expertise in crime prevention and dedicated services to people in 2013 in Sunamganj district. In 2014 I earned ‘IGP’s Exemplary Good Services Badge.’ I was bestowed with the highest prestigious award of Bangladesh Police ‘Bangladesh Police Medal (BPM)’ for galantry in 2018 for crime prevention and detection, fight back the militants even risking my own life particularly in Sitakundo areas in Chittagong in 2019, further I achieved ‘BPM-Sheba’ (Bangladesh Police Medal) the apex prestigious award for my extra-ordinary roles in professionalism and ensuring good services to people in Chattogram district. In 2022, I achieved the awardIGP’s Exemplary Good Services Badge’ for playing vital roles during COVID-19. I have completed numerous trainings in home and abroad. Among these, the Basic Commercial Crime Investigation Course at Royal Police College in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia is mentionable. I visited USA, UK, India, UAE and KSA. I carried out significant roles in combating drugs, terrorism, militancy, extremism etc. while I served district police as Police Super, I have implemented many activities to make policing as pro- people and service oriented. I also set examples of multi-faceted humanitarian activities such as ‘Expatriate Help Desk’.
I have written a number of essays and columns in different newspapers, magazine, periodicals, souvenirs.
